It’s a C&R Dance Party!

Forget the CD Exchange (if I don’t participate, it doesn’t exist) let’s have a music exchange right here at Cocky & Rude!  Each time we have a C&R Dance Party, I’ll name a theme for the day and you’ll post your responses in the form of a YouTube video in the comments.  And don’t forget to dance!

Today’s theme is easy: What’s Your Favorite Song Right Now?
Link us to a YouTube video(s) in the comments and tell us why it’s your current favorite.

My favorite song right now is Fun.‘s We Are Young ft. Janelle Monáe. It’s been stuck in my head for weeks and I just can’t get enough. (Glee covered the song in December and it was awful.) Fun.’s video features a bunch of slow motion  people fighting and throwing random crap at each other. Check it out:

Now it’s your turn!

  1. That’s a great video, and I agree that Glee didn’t do it justice.

One of my favorite songs right now is The Downtown Fiction’s “Thanks For Nothing”:

  2. My current favorite song is 1000 Years. I heard it in the car the other day and loved it, and when I got home to download it I saw that it’s from the Breaking Dawn soundtrack which made me slightly embarrassed, but I still listen to it a million times a day.

  3. To go totally bubblegum pop, but it makes me sing along in the car. Carly Rae Jepson (what a name) Call me Maybe. The ending of the video is cute.

        1. I’d be stunned if that guy gave me his number too. Oh I’d call the number before he even got out of my line of sight, but I’d be stunned nonetheless.

          HUGS…

  4. My tastes tend toward the heavier end of the musical spectrum. Been listening to a lot of middle eastern rock/metal lately. This track is from Orphaned Land’s recent live dvd. And yes, sadly the entire 2+hour concert film is edited this way, with rapid cuts between the drummer-cam and the microphone-stand-cam with very few wide-angle shots of the entire band performing. Sigh. Love the music, though.

      1. High praise indeed.

I just noticed that these were probably meant to be *dance music* videos; apologies for misinterpreting the exhortation to post our favorite song, which I fear I took out of context.

I don’t listen to much dance music, but what I do listen to is almost exclusively from the late 70s. “Up above my head, I hear music in the air. That let’s me know there’s a party somewhere….”

        1. He asked for favorite current song, I think you followed the rules perfectly. No dance music was suggested. Although, when he DOES ask for some dance music, I’m gonna have my white polyester suit ready for the disco video you post, my friend!

          HUGS….

          1. Polt’s right — it didn’t need to be “dance music” … C&R DANCE PARTY is just the “catchy” name that I gave to this series of posts. Current favorite is allz i wanted 🙂

  5. My comments:
Adam’s – I like that song – interesting video, probably fun to make
Ryan’s – Well, I’m like Ryan’s musical soul-mate so I love it, but seriously, he’s better off without a girl who wears a romper.
Michelle’s – that is cool animation, I feel like I should be driving around a big city at night with wet streets when I listen to it.
Craig’s – Very romantic, does Kristen Stewart have ANY facial expressions, ever?
Two-Pi’s – Middle Eastern Rock/Metal exists? Call me ignorant. The lead singer was kind of hot in a back alley one-night stand kind of way.

  6. I’ve been listening to nonstop Adele Radio on Pandora at work. My favorite song that comes up is “Ain’t No Sunshine.” Not sure who is singing it. But i can’t figure out how to post a video using my phone anyway. Sorry.

  7. My favorite song is certainly going to be very different from the rest of you. It’s probably related to the fact that I haven’t turned a radio on for music in about 10 years. I saw Jan Maxwell perform this number from Follies in January and she was AMAZING.

  8. I have too many favorites, but I and selecting this one: Viva Las Vegas by Aqua. Yes, Aqua. There is more to them than Barbie Girl.

    1. Im not sure if I like the song, but it certainly is fun! 🙂 And someone’s riding a bike with purple wheels, so that’s a plus too! 🙂 Just gotta ask…the drummer….chick or really androgynous guy?

      HUGS…

  9. I’m gonna have to agree with Adam, “We Are Young” is my current favorite song. Listen to it all the time. I dont remember it from Glee, but I do remember it from the car commerical during the Super Bowl. That’s when I got hooked.

    HUGS….

    1. The album just jumped to the top of my wishlist. Now, I need to work hard so that I can earn another music reward.

  10. We Are Young is a great song. I even like the Glee version. They also played it during a great scene on Chuck towards the end of the series. It was nice.
