Commenting Issue

There appears to be an issue with commenting … hopefully WordPress.com will fix it soon. (See: 1, 2)

UPDATE:  It seems that this is the official word from WordPress.com:

We recently updated our commenting system. Now, if someone tries to comment with an email address attached to a WordPress.com account, they’ll need to sign into WordPress.com before they can comment.

If commenters have forgotten their password they can request a reset:

  1. I can comment with a WordPress account. It appears that doing so also gets rid of the subscription confirmation emails.

    1. Looks like this was intended to prevent people from entering someone’s email address to impersonate them (not that I had ever thought of doing that ;-)).
