It’s The Friday Five!

Merry Christmas Eve Eve!  Let’s celebrate the day before the day before FMS‘s birthday with your favorite Friday five-centric blog feature  … The Friday Five!

#1. Sweet Cinnamon Wheat Thins are amazing!  Never heard of them? I haven’t either!  Apparently it’s only a limited edition flavor … so try them soon and stock up.  The sweetness, the cinnamon, the saltiness, the crunch, the Wheat Thin … it’s like a party in my face.

#2. I’m Ready For Christmas because I’m organized, well-prepared and just downright awesome.  My gifts are wrapped, my cards have been sent, my gifts have been mailed.  Christmas usually stresses me the eff out, but this year — I’m less-stressed and ready to get this holiday over with.

#3. Presents! We’re days away from present-day!  I’ve already gotten a few gifts, and most of them are pretty damn great.  Really, what can be better than free stuff that comes wrapped?  Oh, and giving gifts is pretty good too or whatever.

#4. Blog’n in 2012 is looking up.  Most of the C&Rmy slacked off in 2011.  The field is littered with a number of abandoned blogs, false starts, lackluster posts and abandoned promises.  But as we turn the corner towards the new year, two new blogs from our old friends have emerged!  Check out Michelle M.’s Cooper blog at Cooper’s Corner AND Craig’s new TV discussion blog at Our T.V. Night (hit refresh a whole bunch of times to check out the different banner graphics).

#5. We’re days away from A Cocky & Rude Christmas Carol … are you excited?  Do you care? The C&R-style take on Charles Dickens’ classic tale will post in six parts beginning on Christmas day.  You know the classic story … but do you know this story?  Find out December 25-30th.

This week’s runners up: the season finale of American Horror Story, the trailer for The Hobbit, this pen, this guy’s killer ass, the trailer for Prometheus, baked acorn squash, Mama Polt and hardcore gay pornography.

What’s your Friday Five?

  1. Yay, my first link! Fame and fortune in 2012 here I come!

The American Horror Story finale was so good! And the Prometheus trailer gave me such a nerdgasm I could hardly contain myself. And by self I mean semen.

  2. Mmm. Cinnamon. 🙂 I personally can’t WAIT until the Christmas Carol. It’s my favourite Christmas tradition in all it’s forms so I’m sure the C&R edition will go right to the top of my list.

I’m ready for Christmas except for the part where I’m not. Ack! I have wrapped ZERO presents. Tonight, or tomorrow. Sigh. I have to do a bit of last min. shopping and cleaning and then I’m ready. Hopefully by tonight, or so I keep telling myself. Let’s hope they send us home from work early today, like at 9:30 or 10:00 this morning. That would work for me.

      1. They sent us home at noon, but I wasn’t ready. I was still in a meeting with my Director deciding whether I want to take a chance and deep-six my career to prove a point. Don’t you love the holiday season? Then I had a couple of things to finish up, contracts to send off and a desk to clean up. But no work for 10 days! Then was pick up the kid, get groceries, pick up Scooby Doo computer game at the library and eat some lunch. Whew. We don’t have to leave the house until Monday. Perfect.

          1. I don’t know. You’ll have to ask the kid. She says it’s hard. 🙂 Oh and she picked up some book about a dwarf or a midget or something by Chuck Palahniuk. Oh Pygmy. I was close, I knew it was a small person.

  3. 1) I only eat the original Wheat Thins, they’re pretty tasty.
    2) Still gotta wrap two of mom’s gifts, and then I’m done. But most everything’s been done for like a week-10 days. Not much stress this Christmas.
    3) Loved all the gifts I’ve gotten so far as well!
    4) I’m glad to see the Palace wasn’t in your Island Of Misfit Blogs. 🙂
    5) The C&R Chrismas carol…are YOU doing it, or is Michelle M. doing it? That will determine my level of excitement. 😀

And how awesome is it to have BOTH your ass AND your mom in the runners-up category???

    1. 1. Try the cinnamon ones … you won’t be disappointed!
      2. awesome!
      3. great!
      4. frequent updates = good blogger!
      5. That’s a rather rude thing to say. I did it — I hope that doesn’t disappoint you too much.

      1. Y̶o̶u̶’̶r̶e̶ ̶n̶o̶t̶ ̶s̶u̶p̶p̶o̶s̶e̶d̶ ̶t̶o̶ ̶n̶o̶t̶i̶c̶e̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶d̶a̶n̶c̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶l̶e̶t̶t̶e̶r̶s̶!̶!̶ That was on purpose!

  4. 1. Sandy Duncan does not have a prosthetic eye.
    2. I finished everything yesterday. Next year I’m going back to planning and lists.
    3. I love buying presents! Shipping them sucks. Why does everyone live on the east coast?
4.Hooray- Craig’s blogging again! Cooper says, “thanks for the shout out.”
    5. I’m Rebecca Black excited.

AHS was fantastic! Mama Polt is adorable. Prometheus looks amazing.

    1. 1. But she does have a funny face!
      2. I need a few more weeks to be ready for Christmas. However, I’ve managed to have all the kid stuff ready for Xmas, which is really all that matters. (And when I say “I’ve managed…”, what I 80% mean is “I’ve married a fantastic woman who’s managed…”)
      3. Giving presents is fun; anticipating reactions. Getting presents is somewhat embarrassing.
      4. I’m glad not to have been called out. I guess when you haven’t blogged in over a year, the blog is no longer dormant.
      5. I hope the phrase “rebecca black excited” doesn’t catch on. But if it does, I’m “the girl with braces next to rebecca black” excited.
