Has C&R Jumped the Shark?

Jumping the shark is an idiom, first employed to describe a moment in the evolution of a television show when it begins a decline in quality that is beyond recovery. In its initial usage, it referred to the point where viewers feel “the writers have run out of ideas” and that “the series has [lost] what made it attractive.”  The usage of “jump the shark” has subsequently broadened beyond television, indicating the moment in its evolution when a brand, design, or creative effort moves beyond the essential qualities that initially defined its success, beyond relevance or recovery. 1. the piss puddles, BUT, MIchelle M. jumping on board at roughly the same time inbued the blog with enough vim, vigor, and vaginas to keep it fresh and new!

  2. Having this level of self-awareness argues that C&R probably hasn’t yet jumped the shark. But I voted for piss puddles anyway; serial blogging about someone else’s excretory functions is just one of those things.

  3. I voted for eliminating contestants. Not that I think that that’s jumping the shark – it’s just another way for me to protest. I still think it’s more fun when everyone participates : P.

  4. Michelle M. joining the crew is C&R at its pinnacle. Nowhere to go but down. When she quits and Adam is forced to steal/accept more ideas from Craig, then it’s officially JTS.

Then again, I voted for other: “Mr. M. is posting comments”. Might as well have cats and real monkeys commenting.
