Forget the CD Exchange (if I don’t participate, it doesn’t exist) let’s have a music exchange right here at Cocky & Rude! Each time we have a C&R Dance Party, I’ll name a theme for the day and you’ll post your responses in the form of a YouTube video in the comments. And don’t forget to dance!
Today’s Theme Is: A Song That Is (or Once Was) Stuck In Your Head! Link us to a YouTube video in the comments and tell us why you picked it.

I haven’t been able to get this song out of my head for months (ever since Enrico told me about it)! I sing it in the car, in the shower, when I’m at home, and even when I’m at work (much to the behest of my coworkers). But to be clear, the song that is stuck in my head is not singing the Glee version (why is Blaine on stage wearing a messenger bag?) or the dumb version from the radio where they added the annoying extra drum beat. For your listening pleasure, here’s Gotye‘s Somebody That I Used To Know (feat. Kimbra):
Now it’s your turn!
(And by the way, if your video doesn’t post in the comments correctly, FEAR NOT! I’ll fix it as soon as I get a chance)

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a music video that was better than R.E.M.’s Everybody Hurts. The sadness, the subtitle thoughts, the suicidal traffic jam … what could be better? Plus it’s a fantastic song! Check it out:

My second job was at a small neighborhood pet shop. At any given moment there were probably only 2 to 3 employees working, so we were responsible for a whole host of duties (everything from customer service and running the register to cleaning animal cages). My boss always made us listen to an oldies music radio station, because she felt that the songs were inoffensive and were preferred by our average customer base. The volume was always pretty low, but when you were cleaning tanks in our fish room, you could always hear it pretty well. Even though it’s been about 12 years since I worked there, certain oldies hits like this one always remind me of cleaning fish tanks.

Today’s theme is easy: What’s The Most Annoying Song You’ve Ever … Liked? Link us to a YouTube video(s) in the comments and tell us why you like a song that so many people hate.
Most people found Trio‘s Da Da Da I Don’t Love You You Don’t Love Me Aha Aha Aha (usually shortened to just Da, Da, Da) to be incredibly annoying. Although it was released in 1982, I didn’t hear the song until 1997, when it was featured in a Volkswagen commercial. I loved that it sounded like it was recorded with a $20 Casio keyboard. I couldn’t get enough of it, so much so that I even bought the CD! Check it:

My favorite song right now is Fun.‘s We Are Young ft. Janelle Monáe. It’s been stuck in my head for weeks and I just can’t get enough. (Glee covered the song in December and it was awful.) Fun.’s video features a bunch of slow motion people fighting and throwing random crap at each other. Check it out:
