Welcome to the Friday Five, where I examine my five favorites of the week!
Welcome one and one (1+1 = the total readers of C&R) to the Friday Five! Don’t be fooled by imposters! Ladies and gentleman, this is the genuine article — the real McCoy! And now, without further ado, let’s get this show on the road!
Kathy Griffin is awesome. Whether she’s judging toddler pageants, getting banned from tv shows, trashing celebrities, or begging the world to accept her as one, she’s just plain awesome. This week I finished her book, Official Book Club Selection: A Memoir According to Kathy Griffin. It was funny, honest, and surprisingly frank about her personal life. I laughed, I cried, I fell asleep while reading way too many copy and pasted emails from her fake boyfriend, Steve Wozniak.
Another person who’s awesome? How about Mikey? Mikey did a great job with the blog while I disappeared for a week … and I think deserves a round of applause! That’s right, please clap. More. A little more. That’s good (we don’t want it to go to his head). But seriously — thanks for minding the shop while I was toasting on the beach!
And while there was a warm breeze blowing last week during my freckle explosion, this week it was cool and wonderful outside! I’m the first guy to insist that I hate weather (talking about it, whining about it, feeling it), but if weather was always this beautiful, I might change my mind. Turn off the A/C, open up the windows, and feel the breeeeeze. Ahhh what a lovely few days here in New Jersey! If I wasn’t so busy this week, I’d be out on my bike or hiking the local trails. But alas, I gotta work to pay for the rent and kitty kibble.
And while working, ya know what I was watching? Breaking Bad. I started the series over the weekend while working on a freelance project, and I’ve been OBSESSED with the series every day since. Who knew that Malcolm In The Middle‘s Bryan Cranston could be so good?! Even Aaron Paul is sorta cute when he’s not jamming needles in his arm. And RJ Mitte steals almost every scene he’s in. Seriously, if you haven’t seen this show … you need to watch every single episode in rapid succession, immediately!
AND my final five of the week? Animals. But not just any animals — smart animals. Like cats and squirrels. (Not dumb dogs.)

Cat Lassie knows that chubby Timmy isn’t worth his time at all. Why waste your energy when you can take a nice nap? Maybe if Timmy was as smart as Cat Lassie, he wouldn’t have gotten his round little belly stuck under a fallen tree.

Mission Impossible squirrel runs the obstacle course way better than any of those stupid people on Wipe Out. Clearly he is far superior to all humans. (Unlike mean deer!)
That’s it my friends! My Friday Five is made up of Kathy Griffin, Mikey, cool weather, Breaking Bad and smart animals! It’s an odd assortment this week … but hey, don’t judge me! This is the crap that I liked the most this week! So how about you? What’s your odd assortment of wonderful things for the week? Count to five in the comments!
