One week in the life of Michelle M.

I was at a loss about what to post, so here’s a rundown of my exciting, fun-filled week.

Monday – It rained. I went grocery shopping, did laundry, ironed and watched The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

Tuesday – The digital arts class I wanted to take was closed, so I signed up for painting. Class started today. This is the building it’s in. We didn’t do any painting, just got our materials list. I was relieved I wasn’t the oldest one there.

Wednesday – I drove all over town looking for the supplies on my materials list. After going to four stores I finally had them all.

Thursday – Our car broke down. To the tune of $3,000. This is the rental car we’re using. In class we painted a still life of ugly bottles. We were only allowed to use burnt umber, so I ended up with an ugly brown painting of ugly bottles.

That night we went out for dinner. I had a glass of Chardonnay. The menu described it as having notes of pear, lime zest, butterscotch, honey and vanilla – none of which I could taste (wine always tastes like wine to me). Harry had a beer.

Friday – I gave blood. I wanted to have Nutter Butters, but I’m doing the non- gluten thing and had a Rice Krispie treat instead. Afterwards, we went to Wendy’s because I was craving chicken nuggets. I blame Mikey.

Saturday – I got my hair did. At least one day a month my hair does not look like a big frizzy mess. We went to Islands for dinner where I had a lovely (and potent) Mai Tai. Harry had a beer.

Sunday – We went to Las Olas for dinner (Harry had 2 beers). This is the view across the street. I love California.

Then we went to the used record store and Pizza Port for a drink. I had a hard apple cider. Harry had 2 additional beers. We rounded out the night by going to the pet store and buying a new toy for Cooper. Then I kept Adam awake ’til all hours finishing up this post.

How was your week? Was it as amazing as mine? Let me know in comments!

For some reason, I want to drink something now.

Well I didn’t have as many beers as Harry, nor as many toys as Cooper, but yeah I guess my week was okay all in all.

    HUGS…

At work it was a crazy week, the first half of it spent interviewing a job candidate, watching them teach, hearing them give a talk, etc…. Happily it went well.

At home, it was a hectic week. Our oldest had an audition for admission next yr at the local arts high school. He thought he did well, but so did every other sixth-grader we know who auditioned….

Heather and I started watching Lost together, via Hulu Plus. We figure to average 5 episodes a week as we work our way through the entire series. I’ve seen the first 3 episodes of Season 1, probably 2 to 4 times each, and until this week had never gotten past that. (I think Heather has seen all of Season 1.)

Ooh. If I could go back, I don’t know if I’d watch Lost again…

I’ll keep my fingers crossed for your oldest!

Wow, your week was amazing. Mine? Hmmm. I can’t even remember. We watched a movie on PPV, Midnight in Paris, we had a storm, I was very productive at work Mon – Thus, Friday, since hardly anyone was at work, I figured it was only fair I slack off all day. I did not drink any beer, or wine or cocktails. That’s all. Blah.

    • Michelle M. January 30, 2012 at 5:07 pm

I’ve been meaning to watch Midnight in Paris. I think I may have only seen one Academy Award nominated film. I remember saying last year that this year I was going to see them all before the awards. Guess I’ll just be watching for the dresses this year.

It was fun, reviewed it yesterday. No idea what it’s nominated for but I enjoyed it.

Yay! I got Michelle to eat McNuggets!!!!

    • Adam January 30, 2012 at 10:02 am

Nuggets from Wendy’s are not “McNuggets” (epic fail)

    • Michelle M. January 30, 2012 at 5:08 pm

You’re like a god or something.

But you just got your hair did last week!

    • Michelle M. January 30, 2012 at 5:05 pm

      I did?

  7. Adam January 30, 2012 at 10:15 am

Where are the before and after hair photos?!

    • Michelle M. January 30, 2012 at 5:09 pm

Well the before photo is when I’m at the blood bank. I felt weird asking my stylist to take an after photo. The salon was super busy and I had an attack of the shys.

Could you imagine a human toy proportionally equal to Cooper’s new toy? It’s like me playing with my bed. And if there’s one thing I know, beds are for sleeping and nothing else.

My week started with picking up my great niece’s cold, to being convinced my job is going to end, to being told my executive director wants to promote me. Frankly, I’m getting tired of this shit.

My week involves work. and drinking. And that’s about it.

Sorry to hear about the car trouble. :( On balance, it sounds like you had a nice week.

My week was spent preparing for my upcoming police auxiliary academy. I’ve been buying equipment, and have started physical conditioning. I’ve realized I’m not in the best shape. I need to kick it up a notch.

    • Michelle M. January 31, 2012 at 11:08 pm

That’s cool! What kind of policey stuff are you going to be doing? You should blog about it!

      • Chris D. January 31, 2012 at 11:30 pm

My blog may be dieing, but ironically, there will be a post about that one day.

I thought it would be cool to blog about the training, but once it starts I’m not allowed to divulge what happens. So I can’t blog or tweet about it.

The police auxiliary in my town does not carry guns, so we don’t do traffic stops or that sort of high risk thing. We do carry batons, handcuffs, and OC spray and have police powers when on duty. Mostly we will be assisting with security at public events, and helping during weather emergencies. We can do ride-alongs with the regular police and assist with their operations. We can also assist with city court security, which is a paid gig, otherwise it is all volunteer. I just think it would be a good way to serve my community in a greater capacity. It also has become a great way to meet new people and make friends.

I LOVE EDAMAME!!!!!! I had a salad today with broccoli, carrots, feta, tomatoes, breaded chicken and edamame. MMMMM.

I don’t remember my week. I usually can only remember the past few days.

    • Michelle M. January 31, 2012 at 11:05 pm

Except for the feta, that all sounds delicious.

      • The Ryan with the Cupcake January 31, 2012 at 11:13 pm

        Feta is awesome.
